I received your most welcomed letter last night but I did not have the chance to answer it then anyway. In fact I only have between five and six thirty to go writing. It gets dark so damned early and we are not in garisson anymore so I have a little difficulty keeping my correspondence up to date. I have just gotten back from a little detail of unloading freight cars or I would not be writing at present.
I use to get letters from Hellen Asenx but when she joined the waves she stopped writing. I get an occasional letter from Lou or Junior, who is in England also.
If I had a chance to live those former days over again I believe I would do the same thing once more. It was a great way of living but I do not see how we lived though most of them. Much fun was had by all and we also had some pretty good agruements, if my memory has not failed me.

pretty bad towns in my days but nothing could compare to this. The worst name I can think of now is rotten so that will have to suffice.
After almost one week, I have finally had a chance to take a shower. We wash and shave everyday this was strictly a luxury. We had to go two miles (by jeep) but we didn't get there. The showers were given by a Quartermaster Portable shower house. It is an 18 ton semi trailor and truck tractor. If they could only get a laundary out to us now we would be all set.
