Dear Marge, Well I received your letter dated the 23rd of August about two weeks ago but due to the fact that we are moving pretty constantly I haven't had a chance to write any sooner. I guess you can see from my heading that I have really did some traveling since I wrote my last letter to you. I have really seen some beautiful country & also was in Paris. In fact we were the first American soldiers to enter the city & what a rousing reception we got! I'll never forget it as long as I live! We drank more champagne, brandy, wine & every thing else than you could imagine. The people had been saving it for that occasion & it was really old stuff. And the women they have there -

those women are really a sight for sore eyes &hey will compare to the girls in the States any day of the week. I really met some lovely ones & picked up quite a bit of the French language from them. I don't believe you knew it but I have relatives in Paris & also got to see them a few times. Ask your Mum &ad about them - I believe they know of them although they are on my fathers side.
So that fortune teller said that the war would be over by the first of the year - well Marge I never did believe in them but we will try & make it come true. This is about all for now as I want to write Mom' letter yet. WRITE SOON!
