Received your letter several days ago and it was swell hearing from you. Have been kept pretty busy so Haven't had a chance to answer sooner. Don't have too much time now, but will try to get off a few lines to you anyhow.
Had a pretty quiet Halloween myself, how about you? Was the movie any good? What kind of mischief did you get into afterwards? How don't kid me! We had a party over at the NCO club and it turned out to be quite an affair. I didn't get to go myself but everyone said they had a swell time. It was masquerade and everything.
I did my celebrating last week-end. Two other couples and my date and I went and sort of did up the town. Was the best time I've had since I've been up here. We crashed a couple of parties at two of the hotels and then after some cruising around wound up at a club just outside of town. We were all happy as larks and having a great time. Am looking forward to another time just about like it this coming week-end. The 1st Sargent and I are going on a 3-day pass. He was with us last week-end and we had a whale of a time, so this shouldn't be too bad.
Nice that you heard from Bill. I haven't heard from him in a long time. In fact Mother hasn't heard from him in a couple of weeks now herself. Imagine they are on the move again over there. From the news there is quite a bit of action right around where he is. He sure must be getting sick and tired of the stuff by now. Sure do hope he gets to come home before long. But then, I guess all the boys over there hope for the same thing. It's going to be quite a problem getting them all back to the States without a lot of fuss.

Last Sunday a couple of the boys and I went up one of the mountains around here. We were up some 8000 feet in the air. I mean we were so high that I thought we were going to have to have some oxygen before long! We really saw beautiful scenery though. I took a couple of pictures but don't know yet how they came out. Was just a little bit cloudy and I don't know how good the film was. Didn't finish the roll so will have to wait a while until I get them developed.
What did you think of that fire up in Cleveland? Pretty awful, wasn't it? I've been corresponding with a girl that lives just a short distance from there and she wrote ans gave me quite a description of it. It certainly was a gory mess.
Well, what did you think of the way the election turned out? Was everyone at your house satisfied? All the fellows here certainly interested in it. Most of them were up all practically all night listening to the returns. There hasn't been too much comment about it this morning though.
Had our first snow here yesterday. Didn't amount to a whole lot but at least it was snow. First one I had seen in quite some time. I didn't have any anti-freeze in my car so when the first flakes started to fall I had to dash out and get some anti-freeze. Was glad I did because t got darn cold.
Well Marge, guess that's about all for now. I've got to dash out on a little official business right now so I'll have to call it quits. Tell your folks I said "Hello" and be good. Write when you can.
