<div align=left> <div align=right>June 27, 1945</div> Dear Margie,<br> Please don't be too rough on me. I just got back to the outfit after some really miserable traveling. I took another trip all over Germany. I had an awful lot of mail stacked up waiting for me. I didn't know where to begin and so everytime I wrote I played grab bag. That's the reason for the delay I also have to write Betty one right after yours. Today & Sunday and I'm trying to get quite a few letters written. You may have read in the papers where my outfit the 9th Div has been seudo part of the army of occupation. That's both good and<br> </div>

<div align=left> <div align=center>- 2 -</div> bad. It's good because I'get home safe but the Lord only knows when I'll get home. We have a few movies here everynow and then and over Regimental Orchista plays for us. That certainly is a scret combination. They really can play. I wish you could hear them. I'm awfully sorry about that package of candy that was returned. Dam it, I bet I would of loved it too. You see when a fellow goes to the hospital. It's hard to trace him through all the hospitals he goes through before setting down. It's much easier to send the package back to the sender. Please forgive me for being wounded at such time.<br> </div>

<div align=left> <div align=center>- 3 -</div> Last night we had show made up of boys from our Battalin. It was a riot. It was so silly I can't discribe it. The chaplin got up to biuld it up and he was a show all by himself. What a guy. Today we took a stroll over to the county side and I've concluded that I can't figure it out with such a beautiful country why do these people keep looking for war. Well Marge since I have a few more letters to write I'd better close. Besides occupation will be for some time and I'll be able to write you quite a few.<br> <div align=center>So long for now,<br> your loving brother<br> Don</div> </div>
