My Dear Mummy, Thanks very much for your letter and the little mascott thing. I am afraid I have not got any standards yet, but I can't say that I feel particularly down hearted about it yet. I have got the long jump to do and when it is done I have got them all to do over again. I have also entered for the hurdles, but that is just for something to do. I fought Habe on Friday. He just won, worst luck but it was quite a good fight, I thoughly enjoyed it.
I got him a peach of a swing on the right side of the head, so I am told, but I wrenched my thumb in doing it. At least I sprained it a bit. On saturday the interhouse P.T. was held. Millington won I am glad to say, no only the P.T. shield but also the leadership shield which anlgebeck got with 95%. I was in the team, so you can imagine I am feeling pretty braced. I celebrated it by spending

my full pocket money (4d) at the bing shop. The shield is know reposing in a place of honour on the wall of the School house dinning room. We turned out for the camp in white running bages, thin whites and white shoes. Millington only turned out like that, the other houses wore ordinary navy blue bags. We put tonnes of greece in our hair to keep it down, and washed our feet and legs. I can sure you that Millington looked really slick. At the end Mr. Dean the chap judging, complimented us on winning the shield and our wonderful smell of hair grease.
The Pramsgrove Choral Society are giving a concert in New Hall at 8 o'clock on Monday. I am not going to it because the prive of admission is 1/-. As I told you we had our annual field day on Tuesday. We were given five rounds a piece and then marched 4 1/2 miles to Prockhill farm. When

we got there, it started to rain. Having cleared up we advanced on several machine gun nests under the cover of smoke screens. The action finished we went back to Prockhill farm and had a Ryper tea, and then marched half the way home. We went a few miles in the bus.
I am glad that Jean has been pulled because she was getting a very long coat and it is best to get it off before the summer comes isn't it. I have not written to Aunty Lil to thank her for the parcel. Wouldn't it be better if I waited till the hols before I write to her. Could you find the card Mr Paslett sent me because it had the address of the school he is at on it. I have not written to him yet. Thanks for the card, I will send it to John after I finish your letter. I expect the house will look jolly nice when I come hoe as you are in the throws of spring cleaning now. I am sorry to hear Aunty Lil has been robed %EF%BF%BD21.
I am getting on O.K. in work and I am finding time for a bit of reading. I have nearly finished "John Macnab" I am going to get another look

out today. I suppose you are sending John a present for me. Thanks very much if you are. The mill heats and the general knowledge are tomorrow. I must have a squint at the pamps today to see what is or what has happened for the last few days. The boxing finals are on Friday, I must definitely watch those however much work I have got to do.
Dr. Habberton Lulham is giving a lecture on "Rolling Stones" also on Friday. Only 2 weeks and 3 more days before I shall be seeing you all again. I am afraid I have ran dry now so please give my love to all.
With love from Teddie
